Our Story

In April 2020, at the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic which sadly emphasized the dire need of Holocaust survivors for accessible professional medical assistance, Dr. Tamara Kolitz approached her peers within a forum of female physicians and suggested to form an organization which would provide the service for this need. Within a few days hundreds of physicians volunteered to accomplish one ultimate goal – To provide easily accessible individualized medical care of the highest quality, free of charge, to all Holocaust survivors living in Israel today.

A respectable group of supporters and partners joined Le’Ma’anam to help launch our unique and exceptional initiative. We opened our call centre in November 2020 and are now serving Holocaust survivors nationwide. The LeMa’anam community together with our 800 volunteer physicians are doing our outmost to create a world where Israel’s Holocaust survivors are not forgotten nor medically neglected.

We cannot abandon them.
Join us, for their sake – LeMa’anam.

Our Mission

Holocaust survivors face a harsh healthcare reality, exacerbated by the global pandemic. Far too often they must contend with ongoing medical neglect. Our commitment to their dignity and wellbeing, given the dire challenges they face, inspired us to create a free quick and accessible medical network dedicated exclusively to their needs.

It is our ethical, moral and national duty to care for Holocaust survivors in sickness and in their old age.
