Physicians for Holocaust Survivors
We cannot abandon them.
Join us, for their sake - Lemaanam
Holocaust survivors face a harsh reality, exacerbated by the global pandemic.
Far too often they must contend with ongoing medical neglect.
Our commitment to their dignity and wellbeing, given the dire challenges they face, inspired us to create a medical network dedicated exclusively to their needs.
Since we launched this initiative in April 2020, hundreds of physicians from every field have come onboard to offer their services voluntarily.
Our goal is to provide easily accessible individualized medical care of the highest quality, free of charge, to all Holocaust survivors living in Israel today.
We need your help as partners and donors to meet our goals and support one of the most vulnerable and forgotten sectors of Israel’s society.
Israel is now home to 157,000 Holocaust survivors, with an average age of 85. One-quarter of them live below the poverty line. Some 1,000 pass away every month.
Our Volunteers
LeMa’anam’s volunteer base includes over 900 physicians from every field of expertise, another large group of volunteers from various medical professions, and a third group who aid in an auxiliary capacity providing transportation to and guidance at clinics, companionship and support for isolated Survivors, and more.
Our Mom came home thrilled. She couldn’t stop praising Dr. Amit Wolfovich for his kindness and for the exceptional treatment she received.

We could not get a doctor to visit us at home and found it difficult to get a doctor’s appointment anywhere nearby. After great despair, by chance we came across LeMa’anam’s call centre... Ariel who answered our call, took care of us with compassion and immediately booked us a home visit by Dr. Elad Asher. The service provided by LeMa’anam is truly one of a kind.

Your help is a real lifeline to elders who don’t have the emotional strength to struggle with the current bureaucracy of the Israeli medical system
Anat Wollman
I have no words to express my gratitude for your blessed work. Geriatrician Dr. Gal Maydan visited my father on Friday. There aren’t many doctors like him out there... During those precious moments he gave me the strength I needed. In short, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I reached out to LeMa’anam and in no time met with Dr Michael Gutman, who treated me, helped me and eased my pain with a smile, without even asking for a fee. LeMa’anam’s work is essential. Bravo, for all that you do!
